Strange weather caused by human activity

Dear ecologists,

I am writing in response to an article I came across on Thursday's edition of the local news. I was disappointed to read the article because we are getting worse since the Industrial Revolution.

Firstly, I know for decades that the Industrial Revolution has solves a lot of problems that were present before, like the communication between different places has become more effective.
When the steam machine was used, it made a lot of changes in every job and the people of that moment. Now, people don't have to work all day and also they don't get really tired than before.

Next, Industrial Revolution was all about oil and now we are using it every day. The oil is what is changing our planet. But the weather it is not the only thing is changing. It is changing the life of different plants and animals, because they are used to the weather that we used to have. So, oil is the problem.
Finally, in other articles I read that oil is going to finish soon, aproximately, in 2050. So, I think it is time to change our daily routine to change our world if we don't want to get worse.

King regards,

Núria Fusellas.

WRITING A BLOG

Month 1:
I've just joined the Horse Weekend, which one is a group of teenagers that spend the whole weekend, once a month, in horse riding center and are also looking for the animals in the farm. I wished I had heard about this before, it's amazing! The people are really friendly and it seems to be like a family. My fist weekend I spent cleaning all the stables, it  was really tiring but it was worth it, because I was all the time with the animals.

Month  2:
This month we went to do a ride. It was all day going out with my new friends and our horses in the forest. We started doing a little walk in the town but then we went into the forest. We had lunch in there, with a little food we brought. The experience really helped us because we got the chance to get to know each other more, an now I'm feeling more comfortable with them.

Month 3:
This weekend some kids came and we taught them all the horse riding methods to good at this sport. They were so excited about everything so that we also watched a little film about horses and they calm down immediately. I believe that if you teach kids what's about and then you show them in real life, it'd be more succeesful.

LET'S TALK

I think I improved my English through these last years by watching a lot of TV series in American English. I also read a lot of posts on the social media from different magazines, like seventeen or teen vogue (all for teenagers), of from famous people; I listen to music but I understand it too, it's a really fun way to learn more English every day.
Travelling a lot helped me to improve my English too. I've always looked up to my cousins and my brother, they are fantastic English students and when I was younger I wanted to be like them, so while we were travelling I was always listening to their conversations with other people. The last few years, I travelled with my parents and they don't speak English so I had to talk to foreign people to know everything of the different places.

My trip to Italy!

Hi everyone! It's Núria.

So now I'm going to explain to you about my trip to Italy that we did a few weeks ago.

We all met at 5.15a.m. at school so I woke up at 4 o'clock. We took the bus to the Barcelona airport, we were a little bit late because there were so many people on the road, but we made it on time. We took the flight and we were in Milan! There, we took another bus and we went straght to Llac di Garda, Sirmione. There we had lunch, (our first pizza in Italy!) and we visited the whole city. Then we went to Verona, we left our luggage in our rooms and we visited the Arena, Romeo and Juliet's place, and we went for dinner to our restaurant.

The next day, we took the train to go to Venice. We walked through the entire city until we arrive to the Piazza di San Marco. There we entered to the Duomo (Cathedral), it was really big and beautiful! Before lunch, we went to a Burano's glass Museum. We had lunch all together, but then we made two groups. My group went shopping and also we had the chance to go to the San Marco's Campanile. You could see Venice from the air!

On Wednesday, we didn't do many things. We took our luggage because we were moving to Florence. We took two trains until we arrived. Our hotel was amazing, it was in the center of Florence, and from our room we could see the Duomo! We went lunch and we went for a walk around the city. Then we had some free time, but we were so tired that we stayed in the hotel.

The following day, we had to wake up really early because at 9a.m. we were going to visit the museum Ufizzi. We spend half of the morning there, but then we went to climb the Cúpula of Santa Maria del Fiore. After lunch, we went to the Accademia, we only went there to watch the David of Michelangelo, because it's the main sculpture. After that, we went to the Baptistery but we didn't make it to see the Duomo. The main part of our class went to climb the Campanile, it was exhausting! After, all the class went to have some ice cream, it was delicious! Then we had some free time, with my friends, we went to the hotel because we were too tired to go shopping. After dinner, some of us took a last walk around Florence because it was our last night there.

The following morning, we woke up a little bit late compared to the other days. We had breakfast and we took the bus to go the Florence's viewpoint. There we took some photos and we went to Lucca. In Lucca, we had a walk to the square, then we had some free time and Maria and I went shopping. We had lunch in Pisa, and then we visited the Duomo and the Baptistery, finally we took some photos and we went tto the airport to return to Catalonia.

SLEEPY HOLLOW

In 1799, New York City police constable Ichabod Crane is facing imprisonment for going against traditional methods and favoring forensic investigation techniques, such as autopsies, considered unorthodox and unimportant at the time. Ichabod submits to deployment with his bag of tools to the Westchester Country of Sleepy Hollow, New York, which has been plagued by a series of brutal slaying in which the victims have been found decapitated: Peter Van Garrett, wealthy farmer and landowner; his son Dirk; and the widow Emily Winship, withour their heads. Arriving in Sleepy Hollow, Crane is informed by the town's elders that the killer is not of flesh and blood, but rather an undead headless mercenary from the American Revolutionary War who rides at night on a massive black steed, he goes beheading people in search of his missing head.

What’s a good friend for me:
A good friend for me is someone who’s truthful enough to tell you that you’ve got chocolate in all your face, he/she is supportive when you feel down, dependable, responsible and serious when you need them to be and a little bit crazy, and finally dedicated to your friendship.

One time that I met a new friend:
We were in a summer camp in Mieres and we were playing an English game. After that, the Camp monitors told us what we were going to do. They separated us in 4 groups and I was alone, I didn’t know anyone. Then a girl walked to me, and she asked me if I was 13 years old, she was a little insecure at the beginning, but finally she became a very dependable friend.
